Getting started
What Delrity is, what you need, and how quickly you can be online.
What is Delrity?
Delrity is a website platform for South African businesses. You choose a starting point, fill in your details and publish a professional website on your own web address - no code, no designer and no drag-and-drop canvas to learn.
Do I need any technical skills?
No. If you can fill in a form, you can build a Delrity website. You type your business name, your services and your contact details into labelled fields, and a live preview shows exactly what visitors will see.
What do I need before I start?
Your business name, a short description of what you offer and your contact details. Photos are optional to begin with - every template ships with professional placeholder images you can replace whenever you are ready.
How long does it take to get online?
Most businesses publish the same day. Creating the site takes minutes; the time you spend after that is on your own words and images. Publishing itself is one click.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The 14-day free trial requires no card and no payment details of any kind. You only enter payment information if you decide to subscribe.
What is a workspace?
Your workspace is your business account. It holds your websites, domains, store, team and billing in one place. You create it right after signing up, and you can rename it at any time.
Websites and the builder
How sites are created, what you can change and how publishing works.
Is Delrity a drag-and-drop builder?
No, and that is deliberate. Delrity is guided: you pick the type of website you need, your industry and a colour theme, and we assemble a complete, professionally designed site. You then edit the content in a simple form. You cannot accidentally break the layout, because you are never moving boxes around.
How do I create a website?
Choose New website in your dashboard, then work through three short steps: the type of website, your industry, and a colour theme. Delrity builds a complete draft from that, which you refine in the editor.
How many templates are there?
Ten, across five design families: business, menu and catalogue, professional, portfolio and online store - the online store family now has two templates, one for food and grocery and one for fashion and beauty. Starter includes a curated collection of four; Professional and Business unlock all ten, as does the free trial.
How many websites can I have?
Every self-service plan lets you keep up to two website projects and have one of them published at a time. That is the same on Starter, Professional and Business.
Can I change my template later?
A published site keeps the template it was built from, but you can create a second website project from a different template and publish that one instead. Switching colour themes is instant and does not touch your content.
What exactly can I edit?
Your business name and logo, the colour theme, every section's text and images, your social profile links, and which sections appear at all. Sections include the hero, about, services, menu or catalogue, gallery, testimonials, FAQ, call-to-action, contact and footer, and you can reorder them. The set of sections is fixed by the template you start from.
Can I add extra pages?
Not in the current version. A Delrity site is a single, well-structured page made of sections, with in-page navigation. Business websites with commerce also get shop, product, cart and checkout pages automatically.
Will my website work on mobile?
Yes. Every template is fully responsive, and the editor preview switches between desktop, tablet and mobile so you can check each one before you publish.
Can I edit my website after publishing?
Yes, as often as you like. On a site that is already live, saved changes reach visitors by themselves within about a minute, and Publish pushes them out straight away. Changes you have not saved yet stay private in the editor, so save a live site only when you are happy with what is there.
Can I take my website offline?
Yes. Unpublish it from the editor and visitors see a short notice instead of your site. Your content stays saved and you can publish again whenever you want.
What images can I upload?
Still JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF files up to 4MB each and 8000 pixels on either side. Animated images and SVG files are not accepted - SVGs can carry scripts and your images are served publicly. Every upload is converted to WebP in several sizes so your pages load quickly.
Does Delrity write my content for me?
No. Templates come pre-filled with realistic example copy for your industry, which gives you a strong starting point to edit. AI content generation is not part of the current version.
Templates
The ten templates, what each plan unlocks, and how availability differs from features.
Which templates are on the Starter plan?
Four: Lumen (hair and beauty salon), Onyx (barber), Meridian (law firm) and Atelier (portfolio). They span four of the five design families, so whatever your business type, there is a Starter-eligible starting point.
What do Professional and Business unlock?
The full library of all ten templates, including both Online Store templates and the photo-enabled Menu & Catalogue template. The free trial also unlocks all ten, because it runs at Business level.
What is the difference between a template being available and a feature being included?
Availability is about which templates you may create a website from - gated by plan, shown as Starter or Professional+ in the gallery. Features are what that website can then DO - commerce, for instance, needs the Business plan even though the Online Store templates themselves can be selected and previewed on Professional. Choosing a store template does not switch commerce on by itself.
Can I preview a template I can't use yet?
Yes. Every template is fully previewable in the gallery and the creation wizard, whatever your plan. Locked templates are clearly marked - nothing is hidden, you just can't create a live website from one until you upgrade.
What is the difference between the two Online Store templates?
Marlow is built for everyday food, groceries and bakery-style businesses - its demo is a bakery, but the layout suits any grocer, deli or food seller. Sable is built for fashion, beauty and lifestyle retail - clothing, shoes, accessories, fragrance and beauty products. Both include the same commerce capability - product catalogue, cart, checkout, orders - the difference is purely in positioning and visual style.
Can I add photos to my Menu & Catalogue section?
On Professional and Business, yes - switch the section's layout to Catalogue and upload a photo per item. On Starter the section is still fully available (the Menu and Price list layouts), but photo uploads are a Professional+ capability.
What are the Menu & Catalogue limits?
Up to 30 items and, where photos are allowed, up to 25 uploaded photos - both enforced on save, not just shown as a warning. A template's own demo photos never count against your limit; only photos you upload yourself do.
Can I switch templates after I've created my website?
Not by converting one website in place - a published site keeps the template it was built from. You can create a second website project from a different template (up to your plan's project limit) and publish that one instead.
Domains
Your free Delrity address, connecting your own domain, and HTTPS.
What web address does my website get?
Every website gets a free Delrity address in the form yourbusiness.delrity.com. It is reserved as soon as you create the site and it never expires, on any plan.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on a paid Professional or Business plan. Custom domains are not available on Starter, and not during the free trial - provisioning DNS and a certificate for a domain has a real per-domain cost, so it needs a paid subscription.
Do I buy my domain from Delrity?
No. Delrity is not a domain registrar. Buy your domain from any registrar you like, then connect it to your website in the dashboard by adding the DNS records we show you.
How long does a custom domain take to work?
Usually minutes. DNS changes can take longer to spread depending on your provider, so if verification does not succeed straight away, wait a little and check again.
Do I need to set up www separately?
Choose the exact address you want visitors to use. The root domain and its www version are separate hostnames; Delrity connects and secures only the one you enter and does not automatically redirect the other.
Is HTTPS included?
Yes, free and automatic on every plan, for your Delrity address and for any custom domain you connect. Certificates are issued and renewed for you.
What happens to my Delrity address once I connect a custom domain?
It keeps working. Once you make your custom domain the primary address, your Delrity address redirects to it, so old links and anything already shared still reach your site.
Can I move my domain away later?
Yes. Your domain is yours. Delrity never touches your DNS at your registrar - you added the records, and you can remove or repoint them at any time.
SEO and sharing
How search engines and social platforms see your website.
Is my website set up for search engines?
Yes. Every published site gets a page title, a description, a canonical address, structured business data and an open invitation for search engines to crawl it. There is nothing you have to switch on.
Can I write my own page title and description?
Not as separate SEO fields today. Your page title is your business name, and your description is taken from your hero subtitle - or, if that is empty, your about text or footer tagline. Editing those lines is how you change what search engines show.
How does my link look when someone shares it?
Delrity generates a branded social preview card for every published site, using your business name and description. It appears automatically on WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and anywhere else that reads link previews.
Does my site have a sitemap?
Published customer sites do not have a sitemap file in the current version. It is not a problem in practice: a Delrity site is a single page plus its store pages, and every one of them is reachable by following links from your home page, which is how search engines find them.
Does Delrity submit my site to Google?
No. We make your site fully crawlable and indexable, but no platform can submit or guarantee a listing. If you want to speed things up, add your address to Google Search Console yourself.
How long before I appear in search results?
Typically days to a few weeks after publishing, and it depends on your domain, your content and how competitive your industry is. Nobody can promise a position, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.
Which address gets indexed if I have two?
Your primary one. When a site is reachable on both its Delrity address and a custom domain, every page declares the primary address as canonical, so search engines index a single version rather than splitting your ranking.
Selling online
Products, cart, payments, orders, inventory and coupons.
Can I sell products on my website?
Yes, on the Business plan. You get a product catalogue, a shopping cart, online payments, order management, basic inventory and coupons - all built into your website rather than bolted on as a separate shop.
How many products can I sell?
Up to 55 products on the Business plan. It is a deliberate limit for this version of Delrity, sized for small and growing businesses rather than large catalogues.
What kind of products can I sell?
Simple, individually priced products with a name, description, price, optional compare-at price, image, SKU and stock quantity. Product variants such as sizes and colours are not supported yet, so each variation would be its own product.
How do customers pay me?
You connect your own PayFast account under Commerce, then Payments, and customers pay into that account directly. You can also offer cash on delivery and pay on collection, and you choose which methods your store shows at checkout. Delrity never holds or moves your money.
Does Delrity take a commission on my sales?
No. You pay your monthly Business subscription and nothing else to us. Your payment provider charges its own transaction fees, which are between you and them.
How does delivery work?
At checkout a customer chooses collection or asks you to contact them about delivery, and you arrange it directly. There is no courier integration, no delivery zones and no automatic shipping rates in this version.
Does my stock update automatically?
Yes. Stock is held for 30 minutes while a customer pays online, and your on-hand count only goes down once the payment is confirmed. Abandoned and failed checkouts release their stock again, so they never eat into your availability. Products show as in stock, low stock or out of stock, and out-of-stock items cannot be bought. You adjust stock on the Inventory page, where every change is recorded.
Can I offer discounts?
Yes. Create coupon codes as a percentage or a fixed amount off, with an optional minimum order value, usage limit and start or expiry date. Customers enter the code at checkout and the discount is calculated on our servers.
Can I refund an order from my dashboard?
Not yet. Refunds are done in your payment provider's own dashboard. In Delrity you can move an order through its fulfilment steps - for example Processing, Packed, Out for delivery and Delivered - or cancel it.
Do my customers get updates about their order?
Yes. Once an order is placed or paid, your customer gets a confirmation email with a private tracking link. They get one more email when a delivery order goes out for delivery or a collection order is ready to collect, and the tracking page shows each step as you mark it.
Is commerce included in the free trial?
Yes. The trial runs at Business level, so you can add products, take real payments and process real orders during your 14 days - not a demo of the feature, the feature itself.
Billing and your trial
Plans, prices, what the trial includes and how payment works.
What does Delrity cost?
Starter is R95/month, Professional is R215/month and Business is R359/month. Prices are in South African Rand and billed monthly. Organisations with unusual requirements can contact sales about an Enterprise arrangement.
What is the difference between the plans?
Starter gets you online: one published website, four selected templates, three colour themes and your free Delrity address. Professional adds your own domain, the full library of all ten templates, all six themes, Menu & Catalogue photo uploads and removes the Delrity credit from your own domain. Business adds the online store and up to five team members.
How does the free trial work?
You get 14 days at Business level, free and without a card. That means the full template library, every colour theme and a real working store. It starts when you create your workspace, and it is one trial per account.
What is not included in the trial?
Exactly three things: connecting your own domain, adding teammates, and removing the Powered by Delrity credit. Everything else that Business includes is available to you during the trial.
What happens when my trial ends?
Your website comes offline and your store closes until you subscribe. Nothing is deleted - your content, images, products, orders, coupons and settings all survive and are live again the moment you activate a plan.
How do I pay?
Through PayFast, on their secure hosted checkout. You choose your plan in the dashboard and complete payment on PayFast's page, which sets up the monthly recurring payment. Delrity never sees or stores your card details.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes, from the Billing page. An upgrade takes effect as soon as you pay a prorated amount for the rest of your current period, which Delrity shows you before you confirm. A downgrade is scheduled for the end of the period you have already paid for, so you never lose days you bought. Your renewal date stays the same either way.
What happens if a payment fails?
Your site stays live for a 7-day grace period and we email you so you can sort it out. If it is still unresolved at the end of that window, the subscription lapses and your site comes offline - your data is untouched and comes back when you pay.
How do I cancel?
Turn off auto-renew on the Billing page in your dashboard. Your site stays live until the end of the period you have paid for, and there is no cancellation fee or notice period.
Do I get an invoice?
Your payment confirmations come from PayFast, and Delrity emails you when a payment succeeds or fails. Your current plan, status and renewal date are always visible on the Billing page, and the billing history page lists every payment taken. Downloadable invoices are not part of this version, so email support@delrity.com if you need one.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are covered by our refund policy, which sets out when a refund applies and how to request one. Cancelling always leaves your site live for the period you have already paid for.
Team and workspace
Inviting people to help run your business, and how seats work.
Can I add team members?
Yes, on a paid Business plan - up to 5 people in total, including you. So the owner plus four teammates.
How do invitations work?
From the Team page you create an invitation and share the link with the person yourself. They accept it while signed in with the email address you invited, and links expire after 7 days.
What can a team member do?
Teammates can build, edit and publish your websites, manage domains, and run your store. Billing, managing the team, payment settings and renaming the workspace stay with the workspace owner. More detailed roles and permissions are not part of this version.
Are team seats included in the trial?
No. Team seats need a paid Business subscription. A trial workspace is just you.
What happens to my team if I downgrade or my subscription lapses?
Nobody is removed. Your workspace keeps the people it already has, it simply cannot add another until it is on a paid Business plan again.
Can I have more than one workspace?
You can own one workspace per account. You can also be a member of other people's workspaces without that affecting your own - accepting an invitation never costs you your workspace.
Account and security
Signing in, passwords, your data and closing your account.
How do I change my password?
Go to Settings in your dashboard and use Change password. Choosing a new password signs you out on every other device, which is what you want if you are changing it because something felt wrong.
I have forgotten my password.
Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. We email you a reset link. For your safety we always show the same confirmation message, whether or not the address has an account.
What are the password rules?
At least 10 characters, with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter and a number. It also cannot be a commonly guessed password or contain your own name or email address.
Do I have to verify my email address?
Yes. We email you a verification link when you register, and your account is activated when you click it. You are signed in automatically from there.
How do I sign out everywhere?
Changing your password signs out all your other sessions. There is no separate device list in this version, so a password change is the way to end sessions you no longer recognise.
How is my data protected?
Everything runs over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, sign-in and password-reset endpoints are rate limited, and your store's payment credentials are encrypted before they are stored. Your workspace's data is isolated from every other customer's, and that isolation is covered by automated tests.
How do I delete my account?
From Settings, in the Delete account section. Before you confirm, we show you exactly which workspaces will be permanently deleted with it - websites, domains, products and orders included. Paid orders are kept in a de-identified financial record without your customers' names or contact details, as recordkeeping requires. Deletion cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
What to check first when something is not behaving.
My website will not publish.
Publishing needs an active trial or subscription, so check the Billing page first. If billing is fine and it still fails, the web address is usually still being set up - wait a moment and try again.
My new address shows a connection error right after publishing.
That is normal on a first publish. A brand-new address needs about 20 to 30 seconds for its security certificate to be issued. Delrity waits for it and only shows you the live link once the address genuinely responds.
My custom domain will not verify.
Check the DNS records at your registrar character by character against the ones shown in the dashboard, make sure there is no old conflicting record for the same name, then use Verify again. DNS changes can take a while to spread.
My image will not upload.
Check the file is under 4MB and is a still JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF. Animated images and SVG files are rejected, SVGs on purpose. Renaming a file does not change its format, so a screenshot saved as something unusual still needs converting.
A customer says their payment failed.
Open the order in your dashboard and check its payment status. Orders are only marked paid once your payment provider confirms it, so if it still shows pending, the payment did not go through and the customer can try again. An unpaid online order is cancelled automatically soon after its 30-minute checkout hold runs out, and nothing is deducted from your stock until a payment is confirmed.
My website shows a temporarily unavailable notice.
That appears when a site has been unpublished or when a trial or subscription has ended. Check Billing and your website's status in the dashboard - publishing again brings it straight back.
My site is not showing up on Google.
Give it time - indexing takes days to weeks. Make sure the site is actually published, that your hero and about text describe what you do in the words customers search for, and consider adding your address to Google Search Console.
Something else is wrong.
Email support@delrity.com with your web address and what you were doing when it went wrong. Professional and Business customers get priority support.
