POPIA Compliance
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Delrity is committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This page summarises how we apply POPIA’s principles. For full detail on how we handle personal information, please read our Privacy Policy.
1. Our commitment
We process personal information lawfully, fairly, and transparently. We collect only what we need to provide the Service, and we protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures. This page should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. The eight POPIA conditions
- Accountability - we take responsibility for complying with POPIA.
- Processing limitation - we process personal information lawfully and only for legitimate purposes.
- Purpose specification - we collect information for specific, clearly defined purposes.
- Further processing limitation - we do not use information in ways incompatible with the original purpose.
- Information quality - we take reasonable steps to keep information accurate and up to date.
- Openness - we are transparent about what we collect and why.
- Security safeguards - we protect information against loss, damage, and unauthorised access.
- Data subject participation - you can access and correct your personal information.
3. Your rights as a data subject
You have the right to:
- Be notified that your personal information is being collected;
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request that inaccurate information be corrected or deleted;
- Object to the processing of your personal information; and
- Complain to the Information Regulator.
4. Operators and processing on your behalf
When you use Delrity to collect information from your website’s visitors - for example, through pre-order forms, or through orders placed at your storefront if you use Commerce - you act as the responsible party for that information, and Delrity acts as an operator processing it on your behalf. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and appropriate notices for the information you collect from your visitors and customers.
We in turn use a small number of sub-operators to run the Service. You can review them on our Subprocessors page.
5. Information Officer
To exercise your POPIA rights or raise a concern, contact our Information Officer at privacy@delrity.com.
6. The Information Regulator
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in line with POPIA, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
